Spencer has created a series of 17 paintings of bush and river landscapes painted at dawn. Drawing inspiration from the first light of day, Spencer creates a series of tree trunks and twisting branches dusted with golden light, along with sunrise skies, clouds and stars as night meets day.
‘‘I’ve really enjoyed having the time to paint now the kids are a little more self-sufficient,’’ she said.
‘‘I thought it was time to do something I really enjoyed for myself.
‘‘From comments so far, my work inspires and is uplifting to others.’’
Jane Spencer’s artwork will be displayed at Just Me Patsy, Corio St, Shepparton, opening at 7 pm on April 4.
