Camel rides, minions, and Humphrey B Bear will be part of an epic festival at SPC Ardmona KidsTown this weekend.
The eighth annual KidsFest event will result in the facility transforming into an even bigger and better wonderland of family-friendly activities.
From children’s karaoke to African dancing, drumming and stage shows — the festival is sure to have something for everyone.
KidsTown acting co-ordinator Tracey Toy said about 16
‘‘We’re expecting around the same numbers this year,’’ she said.
‘‘It brings a lot of tourists into the town; 45 per cent of our visitors last year were from outside of the Greater Shepparton area.’’
Ms Toy said there had been a lot of buzz on social media about the event and they were expecting visitors from a wide area.
‘‘We are getting a lot of talk via Facebook and people are coming from Gippsland, Geelong and Deniliquin — from all over.’’
Families from as far as Western Australia have attended the event in past years.
‘‘Any open space that you can remember seeing at KidsTown will be filled up with something,’’ Ms Toy said.
‘‘It’s a lot of fun; come along and have a ball.’’
She said sporting activities would be among the attractions, to encourage children to be active and involved in local clubs.
A number of umbrella KidsFest events will continue across Greater Shepparton during the school holidays.
