Caught going twice the speed limit

Driver has car impounded after being allegedly clocked at 127km/h in a 60km/h zone in Shepparton.

A speeding driver had his car impounded for a month after he was caught driving more than double the speed limit in Shepparton at the weekend, a police officer says.

Shepparton police Highway Patrol Acting Sergeant Neil Johnson said a man, 38, was driving south on Wheeler St just before 3pm on Sunday when a speed detection device clocked him at 127km/h in a 60km/h zone.

Police pulled the driver over and the vehicle was impounded for a month.

The man was charged on summons with speeding dangerously and exceeding 60km/h.
