Three people were taken to Goulburn Valley Base Hospital after a car and truck collided on Echuca-Mooroopna Rd yesterday.

Shepparton police Sergeant Justin McAuley said the collision occurred at 7am at the Davies Rd intersection at St Germains, about 10km north of Undera.

Sgt McAuley said both vehicles suffered extensive damage and would be written off.

‘‘They were very lucky, it absolutely had potential to be worse,’’ Sgt McAuley said.

An Ambulance Victoria spokesman said the truck driver, a man in his 40s, suffered lacerations to the face and top of his head.

The spokesman said a panel-van driver in his 30s and a male passenger in his 30s suffered back and chest injuries.

A Goulburn Valley Health spokeswoman said the truck driver and driver of the car were discharged from hospital yesterday afternoon. The passenger of the car was in a stable condition.
