By Kaitlin ThalsA Shepparton business owner is fed up with poor drainage after her building was inundated with floodwater this week.
Hasan’s Truck Repairs on the corner of Drummond and New Dookie Rds was one of several businesses hit worst by flash flooding on Wednesday.
Owner Mary Hasan said in 12 years, min or flooding was common when rainfall was light, but this time she had never seen so much water before.
‘‘One side of the road is owned by council and the other side is owned by VicRoads, so we never have an answer about the drains. We pay our rates, ’’ Mrs Hasan said.
‘‘We’re losing business, we need to get vehicles out and how will we?’’
The computer system suffered water damage and the phone lines were down after about 50
Mrs Hasan was also disappointed with ‘‘idiots’’ who drove past at high speeds through floodwater causing bow waves.
‘‘They have no consideration. I rang council so they could put a road closed sign at the end of the road, but they said they’d ran out of them,’’ she said.
