Robert and Wendy Kilroy assemble their Christmas lights at night.
It’s a tactic they use to make sure they can see exactly how their rainbow coloured fairy lights will look when people drive past their Brook Crt, Mooroopna, home.
The couple have been putting up Christmas lights and decorations for 20 years.
‘‘We add about one new set a year,’’ Mrs Kilroy, 59, said.
‘‘It took us about a week to put these up.’’
She said their two children had long grown up and moved to Tasmania but their passion for lights continued.
‘‘We do it for the kids that come by,’’ she said.
‘‘We don’t have any near us, our son and daughter live in Tasmania with our grandson — they don’t get to see the decorations.’’
With their small white dog, they sit often sit out the front of their house to chat to passers-by.
‘‘You get people walking in,’’ Mr Kilroy, 56, said.
‘‘We set up chairs out the front of our driveway and speak to people when they come by.
‘‘It’s a nice social interaction with people.’’

‘‘Last Saturday night it was bumper to bumper — cars were lining up to get into the court,’’ he said.
