Boy facing string of burglary charges

A teenager facing almost 20 charges of burglary was remanded overnight on Wednesday after he was arrested in Shepparton.

Shepparton police Crime Investigation Unit Detective Senior Constable Jeff Wren said a boy, 16, was arrested following a burglary in Macintosh St in Shepparton on Tuesday.

The teenager appeared before a children’s court on Wednesday night and was remanded into custody.

He is facing 18 charges of burglary and will appear in court again on September 1.

Det Sen Const Wren said the arrest was part of an ongoing investigation into a series of 20 burglaries in Shepparton since mid-July.
