Benalla firefighters' radio stolen

Benalla police are appealing for anyone with information about the theft of a Country Fire Authority radio valued at 4000 to contact them.

August 30, 2014 3:56am

Criminal Investigation Unit Acting Detective Sergeant Simon Hunter said an unknown offender entered the Baddaginnie CFA station between August 17 and 25 and stole a portable digital radio, charger and battery.

Acting Det Sgt Hunter said the radio was a vital component of the CFA.

‘‘This is a new radio and designed for use on the new digital network that is being implemented,’’ he said.

‘‘The radio has not been activated and has been blocked and as such is worthless as it is not able to be used.’’

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the radio should phone Benalla police on 57600200 or Crime Stoppers on 1800333000.
