CITY OF GREATER SHEPPARTON

Arcadia: 8.30am, Arcadia Community Hall; breakfast, speeches, presentation of Australia Day awards, Australia Day Ambassador Matthew Christie’s address.

 

Dookie: 11am, CWA Gardens; flag raising, speeches, keynote address by Les Earl, presentation of Australia Day awards and children’s activities.

Mooroopna: 10.15am, Ferrari Park; speeches, address by Australia Day Ambassador Bob Falconer, presentation of Australia Day awards, sausage sizzle, refreshments, vehicle display and entertainment.

Murchison: 8am, Murchison swimming pool; barbecue breakfast, speeches, keynote speaker Ambulance Victoria chief executive Greg Sassella, entertainment, presentation of Australia Day awards and the famous ‘‘duck races’’.

Shepparton: 8am, Queen;s Gardens; breakfast, speeches, address by Australia Day Ambassador Jane Clifton, presentation of Australia Day awards, citizenship ceremony, musical performances and barbecue brunch.

Tatura: 8.30am, Italian Social Club rooms; egg-and-bacon breakfast, speeches, presentation of Australia Day awards and community awards, morning tea.

Toolamba: 11am, Toolamba Recreation Reserve; speeches, keynote address by John Gribben, presentation of Australia Day Awards, barbecue and refreshments, bush bowls afternoon at 1.30pm on Wren St.

 

STRATHBOGIE SHIRE

Violet Town: 8am, Violet Town Community Complex, Cowslip St; flag raising, speeches, keynote address by Julian Stock AM, presentation of Australia Day awards.

Avenel: 9.30am, Jubilee Park, Avenel; flag raising, speeches, keynote address by Lindy Allen, presentation of Australia Day awards and citizenship ceremony, music by Lynn Bullen and opportunity to view historical display in courthouse.

Strathbogie: 9.30am, Strathbogie Hall, Main St; flag raising, speeches, keynote address by Jim Griffin, presentation of Australia Day awards.

Euroa: noon, RSL Park, Kirkland Ave; flag raising, speeches, keynote address by Marcus Mooree, presentation of Australia Day awards, lunch hosted by Euroa Lions Club, music with Gary and Marg Chowanetz and Euroa Ukulele Group and school and emergency service displays.

Nagambie: 4.30pm, behind RSL, High St; flag raising, speeches, keynote address by David Mann OAM, presentation of Australia Day awards.

Longwood: 6pm, Longwood Community Centre and Recreation Reserve; flag raising, speeches, keynote address by Ian ‘‘Bluey’’ Shelton, presentation of Australia Day awards, free barbecue (community asked to bring a salad to assist with catering) and children’s games.

 

MOIRA SHIRE

Barmah: 9am, Jack Edwards Reserve, Evans St; free big barbecue breakfast.

Cobram: 10.30am, Civic Centre, Punt Rd; award presentations, free barbecue and entertainment by Cobram Pipe Band.

Katamatite: 8.30am, police paddocks, corner Foy and Beek St; award presentations and free community breakfast.

Nathalia: 6pm, Nathalia Recreation Reserve, Park St; award presentations, guest speakers, entertainment by Nathalia Choir and singers and a range of fun activities.

Numurkah: 7am, Newman Square, corner Quinn and Melville Sts; award presentations, free Australia Day breakfast barbecue, cereal and fruit, entertainment by Numurkah Town Band and other musical items.

Tungamah and St James: 8am, behind kindergarten, Middleton and Boyd Sts, Tungamah; free cooked breakfast provided.

Yarrawonga: 8am, Kennedy Park, Murphy St; award presentations, free cooked breakfast provided by Rotary Club of Yarrawonga-Mulwala and entertainment. Please bring a seat.

 

BENALLA RURAL CITY

Benalla: 8am, Lake Benalla Foreshore, Fawckner Dve; flag raising ceremony and Benalla Rotary breakfast ($6 a person), presentation to the Benalla Achiever of the Year, announcement of the window dressing and children’s colouring competition winners. 10.30am, Cooinda, 1-3 Kilfeera Rd; flag raising ceremony and guest speaker Rex Nankervis. 11.30am, Benalla Performing Arts and Cultural Centre, 57 Samaria Rd; Australia Day Award presentations, guest speaker Winsome McCaughey (free, but tickets essential from www.bpacc.com.au). 2.30pm, Alkoomi, 73 Samaria Rd: flag raising ceremony and guest speaker Rex Nankervis.
