The residents of Karingal recently got a special treat.
Lifestyle co-ordinator Jill Drummond arranged for former Seymour resident Nikki Eden to visit from Patterson Lakes and bath her baby Lachlan Gorin as part of the activities program at Karingal.
The residents enjoyed watching Lachlan playing in the water and remembering what it was like for them all those years ago.
Joining Ms Eden was her sister Jemma Cann from Alice Springs and her eight-month-old baby daughter Abigail. After the bath the sisters and the babies were able to sit and share with the folk from Karingal what it was like to be first time mothers.
Both the babies and the residents took pleasure in touching and watching each other.
The two sisters were in Seymour for a brief reunion at their mother Ann Eden’s home, before Mrs Cann moved on for a wedding celebration in Boort.
All those involved said how lovely it was to be able share the experience of interacting with different generations and being able to spend time with those who are not as mobile.
Both sisters are going to make themselves available to visit residential care homes back in their home towns and encourage others to do the same.
