One of the teams which has supported Seymour Relay For Life since 2009 is For Our Everyday Heroes. The team was formed by Karen Glen who gathered a group of friends and they were joined by the Cole family including her uncle, Barry Cole.
Four members of the Cole family have experienced cancer and will participate in the sixth Seymour Relay at Kings Park this weekend as part of the same team.
For Our Everyday Heroes team members are passionate about fundraising for cancer research which leads to earlier diagnosis and better treatments for the disease. The recent golf day, an annual sausage sizzle and garage sale and other events have raised more than $25
‘‘When it’s all over, it’s not who we were, it’s whether we made a difference. We will not forget those we have lost and we will fight for those we may lose,’’ is their motto for the annual Relay.
