Seymour Labour Day market on again
And the Great Duck Race again promises to be a highlight.
The Lions Club of Seymour-Goulburn, in conjunction with Seymour Apex, is again organising the long-running Bush Market and activities on Labour Day.
The event will be held on March 11 in Goulburn Park from 9
A highlight promises again to be the 21st running of the popular Great Duck Race, which will feature on the river and is scheduled to start at 1
Organiser Ruth Hall said the 500 ducks would sell quickly, so buy a duck number for $5 by phoning her on 5792
Also returning this year will be the Miller’s Carnival. There will be sideshow amusements, face painting and other children’s activities throughout the day. There will be entertainment provided by Doc Smith and the Seymour Rock ’n’ Roll Dancers beside the river near the Food Court area with ample opportunity to purchase your lunch from the array of food stalls already booked for the event, from barbecue to baked potatoes, cappuccino, and ice cream. You can watch your duck win the race and enjoy music by the riverside while relaxing in the shade.
The event is supported by Seymour Rotary Club and Eastern Hill Cricket Club.
Other activities are still to be finalised but include displays by the Mitchell Fixed Wing Aero Club and Greyhound Adoption Program. Families should find something of interest on the day. The entrance fee of $2 for adults will be donated to community groups and activities including scholarships and activities to support primary and secondary students, Christmas community events, as well as Apex and Lions projects.
