Planting up a storm

Broadford Primary School to become a haven of trees.

CHALPAT SONTI August 15, 2014 3:39am

Broadford Primary School Grade 5 students prepare to plant trees.

It might not have been on National Tree Day, but Broadford Primary School has certainly made up for lost time.

Bad weather caused the school to postpone a big plant out it had planned, but students, parents and teachers were hard at it on Friday.

Thanks to Mitchell Shire Council, which provided 300 trees (the school bought a further 90) and Seymour Toyota, which provided the stakes, protective tree guards and other equipment, in years to come the school should be blessed with all sorts of ornamental and fruit trees.
