Meredith's class shines through on gloomy day for Seymour

Lions star recruit had a tough introduction to the GVFL.

It was a tough way for Brett Meredith to make his Seymour debut on Saturday.

It was hard to search for positives in Seymour’s opening round thumping by Benalla, but the Lions’ star recruit certainly provided some.

In a midfield well and truly taken to the cleaners by the Saints, Brett Meredith showed some of the class you would expect from someone who has played at the game’s highest level.

He had 33 touches and at times they were silken, while the midfield, and Seymour, was well beaten.

It is easy to see why the former Sydney Swan was recruited and what he will bring to the club.
