Is the Nagambie senior side the football equivalent of an Octagonal?

Coach — and racehorse trainer — Linc Sullivan hopes so after the Lakers overcame bottom-placed Rushworth by seven goals on Saturday.

The victory kept Nagambie firmly in second place on the KDFL ladder, only out of top spot on percentage. Getting that figure up would be nice, but Sullivan knows his side has not made a habit of putting teams away, no matter where they sit on the table.

‘‘We’re like a racehorse that only does enough to win each time,’’ he said.
