Fairytales might not always come true, but boy did the Avenel reserves football side give it a good shot on Saturday.
The underdog Swans, which showed remarkable guts to even make it to the KDFL grand final, seemed to have found yet another gear in the inspirational presence of their coach Joe Pollock at the game against Undera at Tatura.

In a complete reversal of the way the Swans had played the two previous finals, the side got away to a flier. It absolutely dominated at the contest, with plenty of numbers and there only looked one side in it for much of the game.
Undera only kicked three goals in the first half. One was after the siren in the first quarter, and another virtually on the hooter for half-time. But there were some worrying signs even then.
