For the first time in a long while Avenel will start favourites in the A-grade netball derby at Nagambie.

Avenel’s A-grade netball side has warmed up for the local derby in great style, beating Murchison 45-29.

The Swans put in a great team performance to crush the Grasshoppers, and continue to improve with each outing.

There was a minor scare when goalshooter Sarah D’Orria injured a shoulder, but Avenel kept rolling on.

The Swans also capitalised on Murchison’s errors while continuing to cut back on their own, a feature that is pleasing coach Anita Lynch by the week.
