A $230,000 prime mover and $30,000 trailer stolen from Ward Brothers in Rochester last Monday were found two days later in Geelong.
Bendigo Crime Investigation Unit’s Senior Detective Tom Harper said the truck was found at 11am on Wednesday in Corio St (opposite the recreation reserve), Geelong.
‘‘The truck and trailer were in good nick,’’ Sen. Det. Harper said.
Ward Brothers’ manager Michael Palmer said he was happy to receive the phone call from police as he held no hope of the vehicles being found.
Mr Palmer said he could not believe something that size had been stolen in the first place.
He first discovered the Kenworth prime mover and Loadmaster trailer missing from the yard, on Railway Rd, when he arrived at work last Tuesday morning.
Mr Palmer said he knew they had been stolen because the back gate was open and the lock broken.
‘‘We never use the back gates,’’ he said.
He said Rochester, Echuca, Bendigo and Geelong police had been fantastic in their investigation efforts.
