Police suspect car deliberately torched

Investigators think arson may be behind a fire which destroyed a car at a Rochester home late yesterday.

Echuca Criminal Investigation Unit is investigating a suspicious car fire in Rochester last night.

Three fire trucks and a police crew attended a home in Charles St about 10.45pm, and found a Suzuki sedan, parked in the carport, engulfed in flames.

Detective Sergeant Brendon Murphy said the fire, which destroyed the car, was believed to be deliberately lit.
