District art group Murray Mizfits will exhibit its works for the first time in Melbourne this month.
Mentored by professional artist Kristen Dyer, who through Campaspe College of Adult Education, Judi Bilkey, Sarah Crombie, Michelle Godden, James Godden, Joan Stevens, Kathleen Watson, Leanne Willis and Ms Dyer have about 100 contemporary paintings, sculptures and metal art works exhibited in the Collingwood Gallery until Boxing Day.
Ms Dyer said members of the group, which has been together five years, had been working on their creations for the past year.
‘‘Their work is of a high enough standard to be exhibiting now,’’ she said.
‘‘It’s been wonderful seeing the growth in the art works. It’s a fabulous opportunity to be able to exhibit works in Melbourne.’’
