Great times for Rochester swimmers
Rochester Swimming Club swimmers were back in the pool again last weekend with more great results.
Nine swimmers competed in the Castlemaine swim meet and again all swimmers managed medals or personal best times.
The standout performance of the day was the mixed 12 and under freestyle relay in which Grace Beckmans, Rachael Johnson, Matt Kellett and Joe Macague came together for the first time.
They led from the first leg and looked strong, coming home in a time of 2:53.09 for a well-deserved first.
Also competing was Chloe Macague, Clare Sands, Chelsea Macague and Emma Holmberg who all came away with individual medals and combined for the open relay.
Jorja Dennis competed and came away with more personal best times.
Alison McNamara ventured to the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre in Melbourne for the 2012 Victoria Sprint Championships in which she competed in the 14 years freestyle and backstroke.
In the 50m freestyle, Alison shaved more than seconds off her personal best time with a 30.33 and 28th place.
