Warm conditions greeted 15 women who played tennis last Thursday morning.
Mandy Dingwell played extremely well on court one, winning 6-0 6-1 6-2.
Val Gledhill was second after a countback, scoring 6-0 6-4 6-2.
Adele Ormsby and Lisa Myers won 6-2 against Fran Spiers and Sue Jackel.
Barb Hanson and Naomi Bessell struggled to win a game, losing 0-6 to Gledhill and Dingwell.
There was close competition on court two.
Fay Kellet eventually won 6-4 5-6 6-2 on a countback from Maureen Leahy, 6-5 6-3 5-6.
Trish Christiansen and Kellet played a great match to win 6-4 against Glenda Marsh and Julie McCormick.
Leahy and Gayle Fitzgerald powered on to win 6-5 against Kellet and Ruth O’Connor.
