A theft of two full collection tins for the James McQuillan Future Fund has shocked local residents.

The items were taken from the Rochester Football Club rooms overnight Saturday.

President Max Hann said members were disgusted by the low act.

‘‘It was obvious what they were yet the burglars didn’t care,’’ he said.

Senior Detective Bernie Quinlan of Echuca police said the empty tins were found nearby with the lids removed.

‘‘We’re appealing to anyone who may have seen something or has any information to contact us (54822255) or Crime Stoppers (1800333000),’’ he said.
