Youth club helps out

Kyabram Youth Club has donated $3000 to Camp Quality.

By Michael Maskell

Kyabram Youth Club has donated $3000 to the local branch of children’s family cancer charity Camp Quality.

Youth Club president John Sills said the money had been raised by the club over the past few years.

“The club decided it would like to donate some money to a youth related cause and we felt Camp Quality’s work to help families affected by cancer fitted well with our intentions,” Mr Sills said.

Local Camp Quality fundraiser Bill Simpson accepted the cheque on behalf of the charity.

“On behalf of Camp Quality I would like to thank Kyabram Youth Club for this generous donation,” he said.

“This money will help provide the opportunity for more young people from families who are living with cancer to attend a camp.

Mr Simpson said the camps had become very expensive to run since they began 14 years ago.

“The donations we receive and money we raise goes to help kids in the Goulburn Valley first and we are able to provide them with a great experience which costs them nothing,” he said.
