A concept plan for the Tongala Central Project was approved at last week’s Campaspe Shire Council meeting along with a funding allocation of $50
The plan identifies works to be undertaken in the town’s central business district and adjacent car park.
Works proposed include an upgrade to the public toilets in Soundshell Park, painting and resurfacing of the park’s stage area, renewal of street furniture, landscaping to improve the streetscape appearance and construction of a barbecue shelter.
New footpaths will also be provided between the bus shelter in Henderson Rd and public toilets in Soundshell Park, and from the light horse statue at the north-east corner of the park to the new memorial wall on the north-west side.
Project planning is expected to begin in the 2014-15 financial year.
