Applications are being sought for a community environment grants program that has assisted several local projects in previous years.

The Nestlé Community Environment Program provides $25000 that can either go to one project or be divided among multiple applicants.

Some of the ideas to have previously benefited from NCEP support include Tongala Bowls Club’s water conservation and re-use, the invertebrate and insect display at Kyabram Fauna Park, installation of solar panels at Tongala District Health Service and the water system and garden upgrade at Tongala Aged Care Service.

The program was established in 2003 as a long-term commitment by the company to have a positive impact in the communities in which it operates.

It focuses on initiatives that have sustainable outcomes, such as projects that are designed to improve the local environment.

The projects supported usually run for the beginning to the end of the year.

Applications for next year’s Nestlé Community Environment Program close on Friday, February 21.

For details on how to apply for a grant, phone the Nestlé Tongala factory on 58519200.
