Rally ready to rumble
One of the feature exhibits for this weekend’s Kyabram Vintage Engine and Machinery Rally provided an unusual site for people in Kyabram’s CBD this afternoon.
‘Matilda’, a 15 tonne 1911 Foden Compound steam engine, rattled its way through Kyabram at a speed just above walking pace on its way to Kyabram’s annual Vintage Engine and Machinery Rally.
At the controls were ‘Matilda’s’owner Ashley Hazelman and his brother Trevor who owns another easily recognisable engine, 22 tonne ‘Moses’ another familiar sight at recent Kyabram rallies.
It was a rare occasion for the brothers to be driving the same engine into Kyabram together.
