Poker Run spokesperson Greg Hancock said all the group’s working capital was invested with Banksia.
‘‘Naturally we had a few concerns about running this year’s event,” Mr Hancock said.
“But fortunately several of the committee members have generously decided to help finance the event, so we will be able to hold the run, which in it’s 17th year has become somewhat of an institution.’’
The event is set for March 16.

“Last year’s event had approximately 380 participants on 320 motorcycles, and we’re hoping for even more this year.”
The event is suitable for all riders, with a separate, shorter route for older and lower powered bikes.
Some of the classic machinery may wish to join the main ride.

A barbecue lunch will be available prior to departure with fuel and light refreshments available en route.
As in previous years, a band has been booked for the end of run party.
Those not wishing to participate in the run, but wanting to support the cause can pay an entry fee at the party.
Commemorative shirts and stubby holders are required to be ordered from Ratcliffe’s Garden Machinery, 292 Allan St, Kyabram, by February 23.
