Newman leads Bombers to victory.

Kyabram class wins out against gallant opposition.

How do you evaluate Kyabram’s 63-point win over Shepparton at Deakin Reserve on Saturday?

Fair enough it was a pretty tidy win in anyone’s language, but take Paul Newman out of the Kyabram side and it would have been a lot more interesting.

Newman bagged eight goals, six in the first half, and was the big difference between the two sides.

Shepparton actually took it up to the Bombers for most of the game and in some passages, such as in the third term when they slotted four unanswered goals, actually outplayed the visitors.
