Kyabram Fauna Park manager sees the improvements to John Pilley Reserve as a double win for the park and for the Kyabram community.

Kyabram Fauna Park has new weapons in its tourist-attracting kitty, but they are not of the animal variety.

New play equipment and the upgrade of the watering system in John Pilley Reserve at the front of the park at a cost of $101000 may seem small fry, but manager Ron Pope said the Shire of Campaspe investment was huge in attracting more visitors to the park.

‘‘Of all the attractions in northern Victoria, we are the only one that has all these free assets for the visitors,’’ Mr Pope said, pointing to John Pilley Reserve.

‘‘No other attraction has a free playground like this, they don’t have free barbecues, they don’t have a free open area like this to kick the footy or play cricket.

‘‘It is an asset that is important for the general community but it’s equally as important for us to try and get more people into the community.

‘‘So it’s important that it reflects well on Kyabram.’’
