Kyabram Town Hall has a new lease on life after the Shire of Campaspe moved to lease the hall for a year to a community committee.

The decision, made on Wednesday last week, will result in Kyabram Town Hall receiving $38900 in funding for refurbishment works and maintenance.

Funding of $20000 will be provided from the council’s community plan implementation funds for basic refurbishment, $14500 to upgrade essential services and bring the building up to standard and $4400 for professional assesment of the signifigance and value of the A Stitch Back In Time collection.

Kyabram Town Hall Inc will also establish a community visitor centre and co-ordinate the hiring of the hall, with all work expected to be completed within the next three months.

The 12-month lease has arisen after the completion of the Kyabram Places of Assembly/Community Facilities Study performed last year.
