Kyabram's Emily Lawson proudly wears the Australian colours ahead of flying out for the World Junior Championships in the United States.
On her cold, wet and windy birthday, Emily Lawson donned her warmest gear and hit the track to train.
For 90 minutes she ran across a grass field on her own, forcing herself to give 100 per cent when most of us had long before retired indoors.
It is this dedication and drive that has helped Lawson, 18, earn her place in the Australian team for the International Association of Athletics Federations Junior World Championships, which she leaves for today.
