Shepparton gave Kyabram an early fright on Saturday before the reigning Goulburn Valley Football League premier romped to an 80-point win.
Having suffered its first loss of the season to ladder-leader Benalla last week, Kyabram found itself two goals down to the bottom-placed Bears at quarter-time.
But after kicking six majors in the first term, Shepparton only managed one per quarter for the rest of the match as the Bombers took control, scoring six, five and six goals respectively in the last three quarters.
Bombers coach Dave Williams said he was pleased with how his side responded to the Bears’ early challenge.
