Kyabram and several other towns around the district have events scheduled to celebrate Australia Day.

Girgarre: 8.45am to 10.30am. Flag raising ceremony at Girgarre Reserve, Winter Rd. Address by Australia Day ambassador Don Hyde and presentation of community awards at Girgarre Memorial Hall, Morgan Cres, barbecue breakfast plus music from Jig Jammers.

Koyuga: 5.30pm to 9pm. Flag raising ceremony and entertainment including yabby races and community barbecue at Koyuga Hall, Odea Rd.

Kyabram: 7.30am to 9.30am. Australia Day breakfast, flag raising ceremony, address by Australia Day ambassador Lawrence Money and presentation of awards at Memorial Gardens, Allan St.

Kyvalley: 12.30pm to 3pm. Flag raising ceremony, barbecue lunch, plus family fun and games with swimming pool open to the public at Kyvalley Community Park and Pool, Scobie Rd.

Rushworth: 5pm to 9.30pm. Flag raising ceremony, sausage sizzle, concert and presentation of awards at Rushworth Shire Hall, High St.

Stanhope: 9.30am start. Flag raising ceremony at McEwen Place. Address by Australia Day Ambassador Russell Rees, award presentations and morning tea at Stanhope Community Hall, McEwen Place.

Tongala: 11am start. Flag raising ceremony at Soundshell Park. Address by Australia Day Ambassador Bill Bell, award presentations, citizenship ceremony and barbecue lunch at Tongala Public Hall, Mangan St.

Wyuna: 6.30pm to 10pm. Flag raising ceremony, barbecue tea and address by guest speaker at Wyuna Memorial Hall, Alfred Rd.
