Dr Kenny said it was important to understand one size did not fit all in health care models, as well as what was required and what was feasible for an individual community.
‘‘If we’re going to develop a great plan for health care services in Tongala, we need a diverse group of people to get involved,’’ she said.
‘‘We would like to provide the opportunity for people in Tongala to learn skills and do research in their own community.
‘‘We really need to find out how the community wants to come together and our people really work as research assistants to the community.’’
Dr Kenny said the project would seek people for a steering committee and there was also expected to be some opportunities for some paid research work within the community.
Details are expected to be released this month, but anyone interested in being involved can phone Dr Kenny on 03
