A 47-strong contingent of Carlton players, including superstar Chris Judd, hit town this morning for an AFL Community Camp which kicked off with a Shire of Campaspe Civic Reception for the visitors.

This afternoon the Carlton players will attend town and district schools, Warramunda Aged Care and the Kyabram Community and Learning Centre from 2pm to 3.45pm.

Chris Judd, Kade Simpson and Jarrod Waite attended the Kyabram Post Office to mingle with townspeople and to sign autographs from 2pm to 3pm.

Carlton players also visited Warramunda Aged Care and the Kyabram Community and Learning Centre.

Schools visited by up to four Carlton players were as follows:

St Augustine’s, Kyabram

Merrigum Primary School

Lancaster Primary School

Undera Primary School

Tongala Primary School

St Patrick’s Primary School, Tongala

Kyabram P-12 College

Kyabram P-12 College’s Dawes Rd Campus

Harston Primary School

The Carlton contingent will converge on the Kyabram Recreation Reserve at 5pm to conduct an hour-long Super Clinic with children of all ages invited to attend free of charge.

The Kyabram Football Netball Club will conduct a barbecue at the clinic for spectators who will be addressed by the club’s team football manager and former star player Andrew McKay.

The sell-out Kyabram Football and Netball Club hosted dinner in the evening is at the Wilf Cox Complex.

This will conclude the Carlton visit with an overnight stay in Kyabram before moving to Rochester tomorrow when the two-day camp concludes.

Those attending tonight’s dinner are asked to be seated by 6.45pm with refreshments available from 6.30pm.

‘‘It should be a great day for the town and hopefully we will give them a big Kyabram welcome,’’ said organiser, former Kyabram Football Club president Tony Hansen.

Carlton Football Club captain Chris Judd and leading players Bryce Gibbs and Marc Murphy are expected to be among the visiting Blues to Kyabram.
