Woman airlifted to Royal Melbourne after car hits a tree

A woman was airlifted to a hospital in Melbourne after the car she was driving hit a tree on Heathcote-Rochester Rd this morning.

A 52-year-old Melbourne woman was airlifted to the Royal Melbourne Hospital this morning in a critical condition after her black Mazda hit a tree on the Heathcote-Rochester Rd, north of Redcastle.

The crash occurred after the single-occupant car left the road at about 9am. 

Heathcote SES, Heathcote police and Colbinabbin and Toolleen fire brigades attended the scene.
