Twilight Opera sold out

Opera lovers who haven’t already bought their tickets will be disappointed to learn the Twilight Opera at Mia Mia on February 11 has sold out.

By Nikala Dixon

Organisers have been delighted with the response to the inaugural event, which will help raise funds for Heathcote Primary School’s Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden project and the Mia Mia community fund.

The recital will feature soprano Michelle Buscemi, tenor Gaetano Bonfante and baritone Mattia Campetti, who all perform in the great opera houses of Europe.

The Twilight Opera Recital has been made possible through the generosity of David and Lynne McDonald and the Alice Amy McDonald Scholarship Trust, which aims to support young opera singers as they set out on their careers and also to bring opera to the region.

Dario Tondelli, who also works in the great opera houses and recital halls of the world, will accompany the singers on the piano as they entertain the audience in the Mia Mia Hall with a variety of classic opera pieces, along with some popular music as well.

Those lucky enough to have a ticket to the event are reminded that the event starts at 6pm with light refreshments, while the performance starts at 7pm, with more refreshments following.
