Pool shade sail work to begin
Heathcote swimming pool’s long-awaited shade sails will finally be installed later this month.
By Nikala DixonHeathcote Community Pool Project’s Liz Spillane announced last week that the City of Greater Bendigo had confirmed work to put up the sails would start on February 20.
‘‘The current wait is for the building permit,’’ Ms Spillane said.
‘‘The works might proceed earlier if the permit arrives quicker than anticipated.’’
The swimming pool’s shade sails were supposed to be installed in November, in time for the swimming season, but residents will still be able to enjoy the comfort of relaxing poolside in the shade during March.
