Music, wine event success

Sanguine Estate hosted its second annual music festival, with many visitors returning to the success event, having attended last year.

Chamber music fans gathered at Sanguine Estate on Friday evening for the opening of the second annual music festival.

There were plenty of repeat visitors, with a strong sense of anticipation in the air.

‘‘We were here last year and couldn’t wait,” Adelaide’s Mary Silver said.

Judith Hodgson, also from Adelaide, said the weather in Heathcote was wonderful.

Others praised the local food and wine.

More than 170 people were expected to attend, with just over 30 from the district, about the same from interstate and the rest from elsewhere in Victoria.

The program included performances by world-class artists such as cellist Howard Penny, pianist Ian Munro and soprano Sara Mcliver.

Peter Pichut and Lauren Laderman.
