Heathcote SES has recently been reaccredited for road crash rescue work all SES units in Victoria undertaking RCR are tested every two years.
Heathcote SES spokesperson James Duncan said RCR was a vital part of the work done by SES volunteers.
‘‘The RCR people train constantly to be better prepared for anything that may occur at the next accident they attend,’’ he said.
‘‘Every accident is unique and no two people are trapped in the same manner.
‘‘To be prepared means a fast, careful extraction and the casualty is in hospital much quicker.
‘‘It is comforting to know that should you unfortunately be involved in an accident on the road or in the paddock, there is an accredited SES unit waiting to be of assistance.’’
