History Week runs from October 20 to 27 this year and the Heathcote McIvor Historical Society will have the Historic Lock-up and Police Residence museums open from 10am to 3pm daily.

Museum curator Elizabeth Murfitt said several donations had been received during the past year, including four christening gowns, a number of early ledger and order books from town businesses, and a table top printing press.
‘‘These items have been donated by local families, some of whom have connections to the district over several generations,’’ she said.
‘‘We are now in our second year with the police residence as our new museum and we are busy cataloguing the many items that have been donated and are very excited to be able to showcase them to our visitors.’’
The museums are located in the Camp Hill precinct, which is accessible from Herriot St, Heathcote.
