More than 80 players took part in the MS Ashes Trek golf day at Heathcote Golf Club on Thursday.
Pro-golfer Jarrod Lyle, in remission from leukaemia, was one of the celebrity players.
He said his group of golfers was fantastic.
‘‘There were lots of laughs some good shots, some bad shots, but lots of laughs,’’ he said.
‘‘You’ve got to have a bit of fun; you’re out here for a good cause.’’
Former Carlton premiership player Craig Bradley said Heathcote was a great course.
‘‘And it’s a great charity, I’m happy to come out and play and have a bit of fun on the way,’’ he said.
Among the other sporting legends taking part were pro-golfer Jason Norris and 1966 Coleman medal winner Ted Fordham.
MS Ashes Trek ambassador Dean Jones said the day had been successful.
‘‘We couldn’t have had better weather,’’ he said.
Organisers said the day raised almost $9000 from auction items, such as signed collages of cricketers, raffle tickets and entry fees.
