Police have confirmed a Moama man has died and an Echuca man was flown to Royal Melbourne Hospital with chest and internal injuries after a road accident on the Northern Hwy today.

One man was killed and another seriously injured when the car they were travelling in left the Northern Hwy, near Gibb Rd, Toolleen, just before 7am today.
Campaspe Highway Patrol Leading Senior Constable Kris Sutton said the vehicle was travelling south and either veered or hit a kangaroo.
“This caused the car to deviate, strike a culvert and proceed to strike two trees,” he said.
The driver died at the scene.
An Ambulance Victoria spokesperson said the passenger in his 50s had suffered chest injuries.
He was flown to the Royal Melbourne Hospital and was in a serious but stable condition.
The accident was attended by Ambulance Victoria, Heathcote SES, Heathcote and Toolleen fire brigades and police from Bendigo and Echuca.
Leading Senior Constable Sutton commended the actions of motorists who stopped to help.
