Carols by candlelight organisers are preparing for the Christmas event at Barrack Reserve, Heathcote.By Barbara Sungaila
Planning is well under way for this year’s carols by candlelight at Barrack Reserve, Heathcote.
Heathcote Lions Christmas carols media liaison officer Rosemary Hill said the event would be starting at 7pm, which was slightly later than in previous years.
‘‘Everyone is encouraged to bring a picnic tea and make an evening of it,’’ she said.
‘‘Other changes include more audience participation through community singing throughout the program.
‘‘Hopes are high for a brass band to be in attendance, as well as a number of local schools and play centres and some of the favourites from past years.’’
Organisers are planning on handing out lucky tickets on the night, with the winner switching on the lights of the Heathcote Christmas tree.
