Turbo tractors ready to go

Plenty of big names will be on the track at this Saturday’s Finley Tractor Pull.

Plenty of big names will be on the track at this Saturday’s Finley Tractor Pull.

And the Finley Tractor Pull Committee is anticipating some great competition.

‘‘There’s a great roll-up of tractors,’’ committee member and competitor Joe Cottam said.

Cottam has high hopes for his ‘Riverina Screamer’, which he said is looking to be at equal points with opposition ‘Plum Crazy’ in the open class.

Another local legend, David ‘Woody’ Woodward has been busy organising the event and preparing his modified HQ ute, ‘Dirty Deeds’. He will go up against the other pulling truck ‘Bad Attitude’.

In the Pro Stocks class, ‘Deer Express’ will be back for its first tractor pull this season, and will be hungry for a win against ‘Wicked White Tail’ and ‘Major Kaboom’ from Numurkah.

‘‘This race will be a great one to watch,’’ Cottam said.

‘‘It will be fantastic to have the three of them back.’’

‘Raptor’ will most likely make its mark in the Open Mini class with its spectacular three V8s.

But it will have tough competition in Brett Harris’ ‘Blowin’ Income’ with a drag car engine, and Gordon Yelland from Berrigan with ‘New Blood’. There are four entries in the Open Limited section and a whopping 14 in the Limited Minis.

‘‘They all love coming to Finley,’’ Cottam said. ‘‘It’s a great track.’’
