As part of the IGA Community Chest initiative, the local primary school received $213.

Teachers say the money has not yet been allocated to a specific project, but would be very handy for the school.

They thanked IGA for the generous donation.

‘‘This is a wonderful program and we are very privileged to be on your sponsor list,’’ the teachers said.

Community Chest funds are raised through sales at the local store.

It can be raised through catalogue promotional weeks, sales from IGA Private Label ranges, brand of the month, direct store donations, store or town events, professional charities and cash collections.
