Berriquin Nursing Home and Ulupna Lodge Hostel Auxiliary president Marj Maxwell said it was the fourth year the monster raffle will be held.
Proceeds from the monster raffle will provide funds to help improve conditions for the residents and staff of the nursing home and hostel, she said.
‘‘It (the stocking) was Shane Jenkins’ idea,’’ Mrs Maxwell said.
‘‘Thanks to the Men’s Shed for the wooden frame (which the stocking sits on),’’ Mrs Maxwell said.
‘‘And thanks to the community and business houses who donated to the stocking and are purchasing tickets, and thanks to the Auxiliary ladies who are busy selling the tickets.’’
Tickets are $2 each and will be available on street stalls and will also be on sale at the Xmas Xtravaganza.
The raffle will be drawn two days later, on Friday, December 20.
After the stocking has been won, there will be more draws for ham and turkey hampers and business vouchers.
