The Finley High School Year 11 student was selected in the 12-man side after trials in Wagga.

‘‘The trials were held last Wednesday (November 27) in Wagga. It was basically a long, three-hour net session,’’ Oliver said.

‘‘There were three main selectors.’’

Oliver said he was selected in the final cut out of about 27 boys.

The 12-man side heads to the state carnival which is being held in February in north Sydney.

An opening right arm fast-medium bowler and right hand lower order bat, Oliver is looking forward to his chance to play in the illustrious CHS side.

However, he may have to drop down the bowling order.

‘‘I guess I will probably be bowling first change.’’

This was the first time Oliver has tried out for selection in the CHS team.
