Cuddly Abigal, a large settler bear raffled by the Amaroo Hostel’s activities staff, has raised $730 for the facility.
The bear, donated by Sandra Pyle at Peppertree Clothing Store in Berrigan, was won by Kathy Bush.
Kathy promptly donated it back to the hostel for use as a therapy bear.
Abigal will be responsible for assisting with the emotional well-being of residents, staff, families and visitors.
The funds raised by the raffle will buy specific resources for resident use in the new wing currently under construction at Amaroo.
Hostel staff said the response from the community has been fantastic, and thanked everyone who donated or bought a ticket.
